Iceland is the nation of progress & peace, and freedom and equality are the most important qualities. Iceland is continuously ranked on top of all world measurements, in terms of life quality, gender equality and democracy, and especially health care, education and internet availability.

Iceland offers wonderful opportunities for higher education in seven highly qualified international study programs across various areas. Icelandic institutions of higher education receive thousands of international student applications every year from all corners of the world.

Currently there are approximately 18,000 students enrolled in institutions of higher education, of which about 5% are international students.

Tuition fees at higher educational institutions vary, and the amount can depend on whether the institution is publicly- or privately-owned. Students studying in publicly-owned universities do not have to pay tuition fees. They do have to pay annual registration/administration fees.
