Linnaeus University is a modern, international university named after Carl Linnaeus – a world-renowned Swedish scientist who was born in the Småland region where the university is located. More facts about Linnaeus University:

Linnaeus University offers a great selection of courses at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Courses are offered at full-time and part-time pace, both on campus and in distance learning format.

Bachelor’s level Admission

  • Tuition fees: Students with citizenship not within the EU/EEA, or Switzerland, are required to pay application and tuition fees for university studies in Sweden. The tuition fees at Linnaeus University are divided into categories, in the range between SEK 85,000-260,000 per academic year. Course fees are determined on an annual basis but will apply to the whole.

Master’s level Admission

Scholarships

  • Linnaeus University currently offer two types of Scholarships. Scholarship for Current students enrolled in a two- or three year lasting programme and for students who study master programmes. It’s possible to get up to 75 percent reduction of the tuition fees for a full programme. Scholarships for students who study programmes will not cover living costs or other costs.

Application dates

  • 15 August: Application deadline for courses starting in the Spring semester.
  • 15 January: Application deadline for courses and programmes starting in the Autumn semester.

Documentation

When you submit your application, the following documents should be enclosed to show your eligibility:

  • Proof of proficiency in English. Read more about this under English language requirements.
  • Certificates and Diplomas from your previous education at university level.
  • Transcripts of Records, including a list of courses from all your years of study.
  • A copy of your passport or another document of identification and, if needed
  • Upper Secondary School Certificate, such as High School, Abitur, Baccalaureate, GCE-O/A-levels, etc.

Note: For applications to Linnaeus University, no letters of recommendation are required. They will not be considered. Other universities might want you to submit those, however. Some Master’s programmes may require that you send in a Statement of Purpose and CV, please have a look at the programme website to see if your programme requires it.
